Blooming Tea & Crumpets

February 1st, 2008

The first time I ever heard about blooming teas, was a few years ago when I was at a friend’s home and her mother made us tea. When I looked into my tea cup, I noticed there were things floating in it that did not resemble tea leaves and to my surprise they were actually chrysanthemum petals. Her mother had used dried chrysanthemum blossoms to make the tea with and I was so amazed by it. Until now, I haven’t had any more floral teas with actual blossoms in it, but I ran across these Teaposy Blooming Teas today and I immediatly wanted to purchase it, but alas it’s temporarily sold out. They even have a glass teapot and cups set which is perfect so you can watch your blooming flowers blossom.

Idea Jinx

July 14th, 2007

Ok, so a couple months ago I was at Trader Joe’s and I thought that it would be great idea to make a website where people could review the different products that they sell at there. The light bulb in my head lit up when I thought about the countless number of times I found myself standing in the aisle and staring at a product trying to decided whether or not I should try it. And it doesn’t help that this Joe guy keeps labeling everything as “great” or “tasty”. Don’t get me wrong, I love Trader Joe’s and most of their products are great, but every once in awhile I stumble upon something so far from great that I get disappointed. Yesterday, to my astonishment I found my idea already up and running! Someone thought of the same idea and beat me to it…which is great because its less work for me, but I still would’ve liked to be the sole person to create this ingenious website. The website is called Trader Joes Fan, and it does a good job of categorizing reviewed products, the only cons are the site could look a lot better and there aren’t that many reviewed products. But for now it shall suffice and hopefully it’ll help me with my future purchasing decisions.

Contain My Clutter

November 21st, 2006

Today, I began my new goal: reorganize my clutter. I dont know how it happens, but everything in my room turns to clutter. My desk gets cluttered, my closet gets cluttered, my drawers get cluttered, anything and everything gets cluttered. I believe that there is a clutter magnet attached to everything I own. I know, I know, I know…its my fault. Probably cause I dont pick up after myself right away, I usually let it pile up until I cant stand it anymore. Its such a devasting diease…this thing called clutterness. Signs and symptoms are desks with only a few inches of workspace, drawers where socks cannot be found, and headaches from not being able to locate an item that you had in your hand 5 minutes ago. I’ve never been to the container store, but something tells me that this is what the doctor would order.

Birthday Freebies

September 3rd, 2006

So, my birthday is coming up…September 14 to be exact, and besides birthday cake and gifts to look forward to, birthday freebies that come in the mail are always great too. So far, I’ve already recieved a few in the mail:

1. $10 off any purchase at Victoria’s Secret (on top of the free panty and $10 off any bra coupon they sent simultaneously…haha, I love V.S.)

2. $5 off my entree at Marie Callendar’s plus a slice of any freshly baked pie of my choosing (I think everyone should sign up for the Birthday Club at MC’s, pie might not be the same as birthday cake, but hey it’s free! And my favorite pie is Boston Creme pie, which is a cross between cake and pie…yum yum)

3. $100 off all eyeglasses at Lens Crafters (which is great because I lost my only pair of glasses 2 years ago)

As for now, I’ll just have to wait until Labor Day is over so I can get more mail and possibly more freebies on Tuesday! I cant wait, haha.

I love these heart-shaped sugar cubes from Sur la Table:

These sugar cubes would be great to hang on the rims of these anamorphic cups and saucers:

Williams-Sonoma, my love

August 21st, 2006

I must admit, I am a crepe fanatic. I love the thin delicate crepes, that can be filled with anything that your heart desires…nutella, strawberries, chocolate, bananas, whip cream, cheese, mushrooms, chicken, and the list can go on for eternity. I’ve been eyeing this Williams-Sonoma electric crepe maker for a while. For $160, I can have the pleasure of pretending I’m in Paris making crepes in my own kitchen. I just love that idea!

The Search Begins

August 21st, 2006

I need a new bag/purse. I’ve had to retire my lovely white Melie Bianco hobo bag, the fake leather started peeling off and the bright white started to fade to a dingy yellow. It’s really hard to find a good nicely designed bag, with lots of room, and reasonably priced. Lately, I’ve been looking around, but no luck. Every decent bag at the mall cost at least $200-$400 and up. Another essential that I’ve been looking for are sunglasses. Finding cute quality sunglasses comes at a steep price as well, starting at around $150 and up. Since when did these basic everyday things become so pricey? Jeans are hard to come by too…not only is it hard to shop for jeans, but they have become so expensive! As for now, I’ll just have to keep searching for that cant beat bargin, let’s just hope I have luck and lots of sales on my side.

Searching for:
1. White bag/purse – lots of room, cute, quality, good price (less than$100)

2. Black Sunglasses – not oversized, fits a round face well, and not made out of cheap plastic

3. Jeans – good length (for petite people like me), preferrably dark wash, and reasonably priced
